Mothman

Mothman is one of those rural legends like Bigfoot and Nessie that are more industry than otherworld. Over the last half century a intriguing tale has been woven, a bit at a time, concerning the mysterious red eyed monster (or angel, as some believe) that was sighted in Point Pleasant , West Virginia in 1966. At least two movies have been devoted to the enigma (The Mothman Prophecies , base on a book of the same name, and Eyes Of The Mothman, which links together some interesting incidents in the area.)

On Nov. 15, 1966, two young couples from Point Pleasant, Roger and Linda Scarberry, and Steve and Mary Mallette told police they saw a large white creature whose eyes "glowed red" when the car headlights picked it up. They described it as a "flying man with ten foot wings" following their car while they were driving in an area of town known as 'theTNT area', the site of a former World War II munitions plant.

Since the location is only a few hours away from me, I set off recently to find this Mysterious Bug Man.
