Some of those drawings, especially the flyers' faces, look like Milton Caniff did them
I've often noticed that myself. I am going to run this by a Caniff expert
John Ellis, in his introduction to STEVE CANYON:THE COMPLETE SERIES vol one, tells us that Lee Elias, with Ray Bailey, drew Canyon in Harvey's 1951 offerings. I am figuring that the mid 40s work just paralleled Caniff's look because it was so popular. There are worse artists to emulate!!
