we once dreamed of owning tape recorders so we could send annoying tapes of our spawn singing "Mary Had A Little Lamb" to all the disinterested relatives. Awwww.
In high school my brother and I played around with a portable battery-powered tape recorder that used 3-1/4 inch reels, but we longed for the Real Thing. We saved up the bucks for a mid-priced Roberts 4-track stereo recorder. In the local library we found several books about Golden Age radio production. These inspired us to turn out a bunch of awful "radio" plays with music, sound effects, and the two of us doing all the (very similar) voices. What a time we had!
Ahh. Back when the world was young! Thanks for this! What a hoot!
