TV comicbook tie-ins of the 50s & 60s PART 2
A friend of mine, who is obviously not a comicbook geek, noted after seening a post on this site that he didn't realise that so many TV shows had comicbooks issued for them. He's a decade younger than me, so he has NO IDEA how many TV tie ins there were, mostly done by Western Publishing. One of the nicest aspects of the TV comic versions were the color photo covers. Almost all TV shows before 1966 were broadcast in monochrome. These color photos added to the allure of the comic product.

"This is Sgt Sprinkles...what's your emergency?"
"This is Principal Dichwagger at Morning Wood High. I've got trouble brewing here. Some juvie brought in a contrband transistor radio, and activated it during third period studyhall."
"Oh My!"
"Yes, within seconds the students were exposed to rock & roll, hillbilly music and god help me some sort of race music!"
"I'm alerting the riot boys..."
"The students are starting to react....I'm locking myself in my office. I have a gun with one bullet........."
"Now just stay calm Principal Dichwagger, we're trained to deal with these kind of situations. Now tell me, are any of the teenagers swaggering, or walkin in some othewise non-drudgery fashion?"
"Yes!! And some of the girls are popping their gum... oh my"

Dell Four Color #13 presented several tales of the D. A. in 1942, all fairly short. Here is one of them, with art by Maurice Kashuba. (These were actually collected from Dell's earlier THE FUNNIES)
As usual, click on the pages for full size..they are fairly large scans.
