Reed Crandall "Twilight Zone" story

Although known mainly for his EC work, and also his stint on Blackhawk, Reed Crandall worked in all genres for many decades. Here is a piece he did for Dell's Four Color #1173 from March 1961. Story is by Leo Dorfman.

It is sad to report that Crandell died in near poverty. His last job was working as a night watchman at Pizza Hut headquarters in Kansas.

Topper?

Film buffs will know Cosmo Topper fom the 1937 film "Topper", based on a 1926 novel. TV took characters Topper and the ghost couple Marion & George, and gave them a ghost pet, Neil. In this 1957 comic version (Four Color 859), the Kirbeys don't appear, but now their ghost dog can also talk

Earl Oliver Hurst, born in 1895, began his career at the Cleveland Plain Dealer. His illos graced many magazines mid-century.
