Comic Book Short Story~The Reluctant Rustler

HAVE GUN- WILL TRAVEL premiered 55 years ago, and ran for 6 or 7 seasons. I was too young to remember it. I've never sought it out as I have other retro TV because I don't much care for westerns. However I have just watched the first 2 episodes and I must say I am very impressed. The second episode, guest starring Charles Bronson, would be Emmy nominated fare today. The half hour format makes for tight plotting and writing, which is why I love shows like Peter Gunn and the first 39 episodes of Danger Man so much.
This was the only TV show to spawn a successful radio drama version. Paladin was voiced by William Conrad.

Toyota EX-III

The Toyota EX-III concept car was shown at the 1969 Tokyo Motor Show.

While most Japanese firms turned to European design houses for their innovative designs, Toyota struck its own course. The 1969 EX III was a case in point. Here was a sleek coupe, which advanced the dream-car ideal as much as the Europeans. Its sleek shape
carried over to its ultra-smooth underbody, making it very aerodynamic.

Flash Gordon original cover art

George WIlson's original art for the cover of Flash Gordon #20, 1978

Don't know if the colors are muted by choice or just a result of printing..but it fails to bring out the richness of Wilson's original

Talk about a staged photo...a BBQ where no one is wearing wifebeaters or flipflops.

BBQ-Life magazine 1958. YUM! Why did the host cut up the onions, but leave the more difficult tomatoes for his drunken guests? (those must be 24 oz beers at least!). And are you supposed to slice your own eggplant and grill it? Grilling eggplant doesn't help it a bit. And what about the stuff in lower right--hamburger? steak? cow patties? and is that fondue next to the beans?

Department Store Ski Boat!

I knew you could once buy complete houses (in pieces) from Sears...Didn't know about boats! Wonder if you had to assemble them yourself?
